Reading born and bred musician, Jessica Lee Morgan, celebrates her 50th anniversary  in life and music with an all-star jam at The Purple Turtle on Sunday 21st June.

Jessica's musical journey has followed a long and winding road since early recording sessions for her parents, Mary Hopkin and Tony Visconti. Raised in the studio, she has also played everywhere from The Rising Sun to Carnegie Hall, solo and in bands of all shapes and sizes including Moosehead, The Rozzers, Very Hopkin, Those Were The Days and Visconti and Woodmansey's Holy Holy, who are touring in the UK in September.

With additional credentials as a record-label owner and author of a music biz how-to book called You Know What You Should Do?, when Jessica throws a party it's going to be unashamedly public, and the guest musicians will be the pick of the bunch. Friends and band-members have all been invited to join the jam in the hope that they don't get a better offer.

Exorcising the past after a pre-internet (no photos) 18th birthday party at much-loved Alley Cat a few doors down from The Turtle, where her mother was barred and the band were bribed to play (but not with money), Jessica celebrates with micro-sets of her favourite songs played with some of her favourite people.

The event also launches The GiG TV Show, which champions original and independent music and offers a directory of artists and industry contacts.

Some will remember Jessica's lockdown Time Zone Tour with her partner Christian Thomas, where they toured the world using nothing but a laptop and their imaginations. Jessica has been determined to combine the buzz of a live venue performance with live streaming since then as her fan base spreads across generations and continents.

Jesstival will happen not only in The Purple Turtle but will be beamed to the screens of those who can't be there in person.

Expect rock’n’roll, some of Jessica’s own greatest hits, band members from Those Were The Days and Holy Holy, seasoned performers and a vibe you could stand a spoon up in.

There will also be a merchandise stall selling albums, books and other items from Jessica and friends.

The event will be streamed on several channels:

The GiG TV Show: youtube.com/TheGiGTVShow
Purple Turtle TV: youtube.com/@PurpleTurtle_TV

Jessica and Chris presented a virtual launch tour on YouTube to promote You Know What You Should Do? t he book and the album from the 6-9 March 2025.

There were five sessions over four days.
Each started with Jessica reading a chapter from her book.
Then Chris joined her for a live performance of the album in their time-honoured livestream format.
Following that was an episode of 'The Making of You Know What You Should Do?'.
